Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine has a unique style that blends R&B with gospel, soul music and R&B. Sunshine has appeared on Broadway as well as during the Democratic National Convention and in European festivals and clubs. Sunshine has the name Denise White. Even though she lives in Atlanta currently, she is originally from Chester Pennsylvania. In Chester Pennsylvania she started out as a musician by playing and singing at the church in town. Following her graduation from Spellman College, Atlanta she embarked on her journey of music in Atlanta's R&B musical scene. In 2005, she was the drummer in Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. In 2007, Grammy and Tony award-winning vocalist Jennifer Holliday sought her out to become the choral director in the production staged by Dreamgirls at the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine became famous throughout the four performances of 2008 Democratic National Convention. Sunshine sang at Barack Obama's 2009 Inauguration.
